Set up your store

Shopify

Add a PeptidesPayment checkout page and theme snippet so international buyers check out through PeptidesPayment, with prices shown in their own currency.

On Shopify, PeptidesPayment runs the checkout inside a page you add to your theme. When an international buyer reaches checkout, your theme sends them to that page, which loads the PeptidesPayment checkout. Prices across the store can be shown in the buyer's local currency. Domestic buyers are unaffected unless you choose to include your home market.

Prerequisites

Set these up in Shopify first:

  1. Shopify Markets for every country you want to sell to. PeptidesPayment reads your markets and catalog, so each target market must exist and be active.
  2. Shipping zones and rates for those markets. PeptidesPayment presents the shipping options Shopify returns, so a market with no shipping configured cannot check out.

You will also need your Merchant ID and the PeptidesPayment theme files (the checkout page template and the integration snippet), provided by PeptidesPayment when your account is set up.

1. Create the checkout page

Add the PeptidesPayment checkout page template to your theme (a page.sellabroad-checkout template). Then create a Shopify Page and assign that template to it. The page renders the PeptidesPayment checkout as a full-screen iframe and passes the cart, merchant, and currency through to it, with your store's theme chrome hidden.

2. Add the integration snippet

Add the PeptidesPayment snippet to your theme layout (theme.liquid). It does three things:

  • Watches the cart and, for the markets you enable, sends the buyer to the checkout page from step 1 instead of Shopify's own checkout.
  • Converts displayed prices into the buyer's local currency using PeptidesPayment's exchange-rate endpoint, GET /currency/rates.
  • Shows the local payment methods available in the buyer's country.

3. Choose which markets are affected

The snippet activates PeptidesPayment checkout for a list of countries that you control. Add every international market you want PeptidesPayment to handle. You can also include your domestic market if you want PeptidesPayment to run those checkouts too, or leave it out to keep domestic buyers on Shopify's native checkout.

4. Test and go live

Place a test order from one of your enabled countries. Confirm the buyer reaches the PeptidesPayment checkout, pays, and the order appears in both your Shopify admin and your PeptidesPayment dashboard. Then you are live.
